Directions:  From I-70 Exit #98 (MO 135), go south to Pilot Grove. At the north end of Pilot Grove, take Rt. HH 4.5 miles northwest, then go 2 miles north on Buffalo Prairie Drive (gravel road.)
 
When to Visit/Species to Expect:  Spring migration can bring this very small area a surprising number of songbirds.  Cliff Swallows may be numerous in summer.
 
Features of interest to birders:  The bridge over the Lamine River hosts a Cliff Swallow colony.  Large trees at riverside may provide very busy feeding niches.  A mulberry tree beside the road attracts many birds.
 
The area has about 6 acres of woodland and just under 1 acre of old field.  This ecotone area can be very active with a variety of species.

Camping: primitive
 
Hazards/Limitations:  Area is popular with local anglers; several may be camping on weekends.
 
Flooding on the Lamine may cover this area.
