J to Mineola, then west on Rt. N about one mile to a left turn onto CR 278 (a.k.a. Graveyard Hill Rd.) for about 3/4 mile to area sign (on the left). When to Visit/Species to Expect: Anytime for typical bottomland and grassland species in expected season. Spring migrants are good near the river. Features of interest to birders: Entrance road transects old field habitat with a good variety of grassland and shrub species. Canoe launch provides access to the Loutre River. Parking area offers an opportunity to listen and watch for riparian corridor species. Toilets: None Camping: Designated primitive area Hazards/Limitations: Overgrown two-track is the only access to the excellent riparian habitat upstream from the parking area at the canoe launch.
