The society is dedicated to the preservation and protection of birds and other wildlife; to education and appreciation of the natural world; and to effective wildlife and habitat conservation practices.

• Annual spring and fall meetings at venues around the state, open to all birders, featuring birding, workshops and speakers

• Opportunities to bird with others around the state on special days or weekends
• Conducting surveys for CACHE (Conservation Area Checklist) and SPARKS (State Parks bird checklists)
• Involvement in habitat-related partnership activities in Missouri
